Project Description

Snjór, or snow in English, is a visual exploration of one of Europe’s coldest and roughest countries, Iceland, in the middle of Winter. This period of the year sees the island turn completely frozen, temperatures dropping below -20° and blizzards covering the land in thick layers of snow.

The resilience of the locals means that despite this, life is possible on this island all year around. The project focuses on the scenery and the weather’s relationship, documenting peak wintertime and its effect on the landscape.
